A documentary for the socio-ecological project of the Belgian architects of Bamboostic and PUC University Rio de Janeiro, in order to support the Quilombo community of Camburi.
"Quilombo" is the name for a community organized by fugitive slaves during the colonial years in Brazil. They settled themselves in inaccessible areas in forests and hills and survived by fishing and farming.
The people of today's Quilombo community in Camburi are still living in the same conditions as their parents and grandparents, although some things have changed. Electricity has arrived in 2008. The road down to the community has partly been paved. And more people discovered the prestine shores of the Camburi coastline.
