Relive the memories of LRU.
In 1957 Little Rock Junior College expanded its curriculum and changed its name to Little Rock University. As a four-year university with its own independent board of trustees, LRU began a new era in the institution's history.
During the late 1960s a possible merger with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville was a hot topic of discussion at LRU. After prolonged study and negotiations, the merger materialized in 1969 when Governor Winthrop Rockefeller signed the bill creating the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
