An observational documentary which paints an intimate portrait of Dalymount Park and the Dublin Derby.
Dalymount Park has seen better days, the former home of Irish Football lies under the gaze of the weathered floodlights bought second-hand from Arsenal in 1962. The stadium now half condemned and ready to be demolished plays host to the Dublin Derby between Bohemian F.C. and Shamrock Rovers.
The resulting spectacle, an unlikely synthesis of embattled fans, bad weather, and intense rivalry shows that the experience of watching local football can compete, and in many ways surpass the hyper commercialisation and sanitisation of football in any of the world's major leagues today.
Zozimus is an intimate look at the collective experience of the theatre of local football. It shows that the poetry and the passion of the beautiful game can happen in the most improbable of places.
