Anything I've ever loved doing in my life has always been the SCARIEST thing for me to do.
Poetry, is my release. Poetry is my therapy. Poetry is that ear when no one will listen. I once told someone that performing my "therapy" is like turning your skin inside-out. That vulnerability that I'm left with ... that vulnerability leaves me exposed, but at the same time... FREE.
This video, is the first I've EVER performed, but felt it was necessary. I've launched this project entitled Drakes365 in an attempt to get out of my shell and essentially, drop all fears.
Shooting my first video in the busy downtown streets of Toronto is liberating, and a calculated attempt of freeing those fears. Crowds forming, people watching, external distractions, have all been part of my expansion process; my breaking out of my preverbal shell.. Fear is something we all face. Fear something I face. OVERCOMING that fear however ...
is what life is all about.

This was a great impromptu shoot. I was on my way to an interview for the Rich Kidd EPK at the Remix Project. it was going to be a quick shoot so I figured I would try and squeeze in a fun creative shoot for later on. I tweeted Blogger/ Poet, Drakes, with the feeling that he would take this opportunity to film his first performance video seriously. I know him as a hungry developing artist searching for his voice. Within 10mins I got the call back and he introduced me to his new project "Drakes365" I figured I could help him promote it and get him some experience in front of the camera. I had also just picked up a new 35mm lens the day before that I really wanted to play with so that's what I used for most of it. This random shoot took 1 hour to shoot and 5 hours to edit.
