There is an ambiguous relationship between humans and time because of our inability to accept our own finitude. In our contemporary era the demand of performance coupled with the concept of time contribute to the denial of ripening, and ageing and maintain the dramatic taboo we have about decay and death. Being and Nothingness is inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre’s book with the same title. The images+music in this experimental video art project question the development of our individual consciousness within the linear convention of time created by humans.
The trinity of time –past, present and future- exists only within our conventions. Impermanency, that which rules the whole universe will never be frozen in time despite our preservation strategies and our beliefs.
