Oral cancer therapy can be divided into three broad categories: chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy. Each of these therapies can have side effects, only the most common are presented here. You might not experience any, or you might experience some of them. Ask the pharmacist at the hospital or at your local pharmacy to explain those that are specific to your treatment. Remember that you don’t have to endure or hide a side effect. They can often be prevented or reduced by taking simple steps. Here is a video made by the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), to help you manage side effects of your oral cancer treatment.
