The idea behind the #ClimbingClimateChange projection was showing that climbing the unsurmountable is possible. Climate Change is the single most important issue that we are facing right now. The melting of our ice-sheets isn’t going to happen from one day to the next, but it is the accumulation of events happening right now that will lead to it eventually, and it is our responsibility as inhabitants of this planet to prevent it.
Climbing the facade of our Flatiron Building was not an option this year, so I decided to climb a striking structural element to mark #EarthDay, refocusing the 285’ climb. I ended up climbing 280’ of my favorite #Staircase and an extra #Symbolic 5’ of our beautiful #Prow.
As a climber, the endurance and problem-solving for mind and body is helping me to be more physically, emotionally, and mentally #present; fully focused on the #now. I bring this awareness in my daily life, as a #Mom, #Activist, #SustainableDeveloper, and #ConceptualPhotographer. Now is the time, now is all we have!
My goal for @climbingclimatechange is to scale 100,000-ft in one year, from Earth-Day this past weekend to Earth-Day 2019.
