A Study of the End Times - Revelation PM # 10 - The Seven Year Treaty To Build The Temple 04/22/2018
That there will be a Jewish Temple rebuilt in Jerusalem during the Tribulation is clear! To grasp the significance of that, we need to review a little history from the past before we look at the future.
When the Hebrews left Egypt around 1,400B.C., one of the first things God told them to do was to construct a Tabernacle. It was where the Spirit of God would dwell, meet with them, accept their worship, observe their sacrifices, forgive them of their sins and bless them for their obedience.
Four hundred years later (around 1,040B.C.), Solomon followed through with David’s plan to build God a permanent house of worship in Jerusalem. Solomon spared nothing and built not only something that was pleasing to God but that became one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
It stood for 450 years through all the kings of Judah, until 586B.C. when the Babylonians destroyed it, carrying away anything of value. It was left a heap of rubble till Ezra returned. But Ezra, unlike Nehemiah, didn’t have orders from the king to receive all the supplies he needed and remember that the city was still in shambles without a government. Ezra did the best he could but when he got done, the old men said it was nothing compared to Solomon’s Temple. Ezra 3:12 It was barely operational in the days of Malachi.
