Excerpt from three films shown at the exhibition Factory of Strong Emotions @ Schimmel Projects –Art Centre, Dresden, 2018
In the multi-part video installation Factory of Strong Emotions the films „Verkocht, Spaß am Sonntag, Heute Spaß, morgen tot“ are placed in a spatial relationship to each other. The first video shows human interaction in a waiting room of the employment office, while in the second video persian sounds accompany a woman hanging laundry in the backyard. In a short third film sequence, the labour itself is laid to rest. Projected onto two different walls, they play alternately, one after the other, whereby the third one, at first indistinctly small, then ever larger, clearer and more obtrusive grows into the picture, until everything culminates in a cacophony crescendo, where all the films rage simultaneously. A walk-in hut in which an udder filled with mayonnaise hangs from the ceiling serves as a retreat. The floor in and around the house is covered with shredded paper piles. The snippets are continuously kept in motion by the visitor and redistributed in the room. Above the scenery, four flags waving gently in the wind of a fan.
