Employing gaze as an element for investigation, Antique’s Daughter explores the perception of the feminine. Utilizing the idea of seeing, being seen and sacred space, the dancers break through the fourth wall that separates performer from audience, traveling into and out of the domain of the viewer.
With a performance history of a backyard, a bar and traditional theatre spaces, the performance region is defined beyond the stage, albeit set apart from the audience, creating a clear delineation between viewer sector and performer territory.
