Mark Deakin and his partner live in Irymple near Mildura in north west Victoria.
When the region experienced an unusually large downpour in February 2011, many rural and urban properties became completely flooded.
Mark's house was one of them.
Still unliveable four months on, they continue to wait for the insurance company and builders to start work so they can move back home.
This video is the second part of Mark's story, captured by ABC Open for the project, Aftermath.
Aftermath follows the stories of people who are trying to rebuild their lives and their communities; and to recover from these devastating events. These are stories of resilience, or ordinary people finding extraordinary strength to deal with the ongoing effects of natural disaster.
