February 13th 2018 the Beaver bridge at De Zaag nature reserve was officially opened. The event was planned on January 11th, but was postponed because of the storm raging over our country that day. Circa 100 people attended the opening of the work of art by Observatorium, the Rotterdam artists' collective. The arrival of the Beaver bridge is the conclusion of the redevelopment of De Zaag as a recreational area. The intention is for more people to come and enjoy this beautiful place, located between Dordrecht and Rotterdam.
The Beaver bridge is the first work of art of RiverArt in this region. In the coming years, RiverArt, in collaboration with Mothership and Observatorium, will realize a dozen iconic works of art on the banks of the river Noord between Rotterdam and Dordrecht. The works of art will connect the region and make it more attractive to visitors, residents and entrepreneurs and at the same time draw attention to the rich history.
