AE Tutorial 8 (+ Premiere Pro): Easy Letterbox For Anamorphic Format

If you want to achieve the epicness of cinemascope's anamorphic 2.35 format, but don't want to shoot with anamorphic lenses or go through and crop every single clip in your NLE, try this method:

Create a perfectly formatted "letterbox" matte in AE and overlay in your NLE, or use it as a track matte in your NLE, to achieve the look.
