After doing many time lapses for my movie, THE LAST DAYS ON EARTH I got a bit frustrated with the fact that in many high contrast situations I wouldn't get the result I wished for. Imagine you shoot an alley and it's sunny and bright, the sky is blue but the alley is very shadowy. You either go for the blue sky and in return make the alley dark or you brighten up the shadowy alley and loose the beautiful blue sky which becomes greyish. After watching many HDR tutorials and videos I realised that I could achieve the wished result with this technique. So I did a quick 8 seconds long test. I will upload more footage later today and do an extensive post on my blog gregrichters.com later!
