I'm David Vaisbord, that's me in the bad thumbnail photo. I'm a filmmaker who's been shooting a documentary on the Little Mountain Housing Project for going on 3 years. If you live in Vancouver, or are passionate about urban issues you have to seriously consider what's being said in these next three video clips.
If you're wondering what 1.4FSR to 3.5 FSR looks like at Little Mountain, check out "Little Mountain Density Models: The Movie!" a time-lapse analysis of the architect's site models from 7 angles.
Go to littlemountainproject.com to find links to more information about redevelopment of the Little Mountain Project including: to a City of Vancouver primer on FSR called "Density 101".
I've created a 3-part VIDEO SERIES that divides one crucial meeting into the three subjects that were discussed. If it's a meeting you missed, you can watch it now.
You may have noticed that two "Q&A shorts" from that meeting are already on-line, but they're not complete. You godda' watch the entire meeting to understand WHAT'S GOING ON at Little Mountain, and what WILL HAPPEN at Little Mountain if we don't join together and speak up.
This is how the video series divides up:
Part 1: The Density Reaction.
Deals with the community's first reaction to density models presented to the group.
Part 2: The Economic Analysis.
Essential knowledge for understanding the economic quagmire of Part 3 of this series, AND it's surprisingly easy to understand. You'll learn essential terms such as "land lift". Compliments to Mr. Erb for his compelling performance.
Part 3: A Memorandum to the Community of Little Mountain.
The architect reads the "Memorandum of Understanding" to The People. Floor opens up under participants. Warning: Watching this last act of the series may raise your blood pressure!
