Hear the amazing stories of two of the Chicago area winners in Inc. Magazine's annual Top Small Company Workplaces competition. Each year, Inc. Magazine conducts a competition to select the Top Small Company Workplaces. An Evanston, IL organization, Winning Workplaces, assists Inc. Magazine in choosing the companies to be considered from thousands of applicants from across the U.S.
This year, we will feature two dynamic but very different companies: Applications Software Technology (AST), one of the leading integrators of Oracle E-business systems, and Gold Eagle Company, a 79-year old family-owned manufacturing company. Gold Eagle has several of the leading brands of fuel additive for the automotive aftermarket including Heet gas line antifreeze and Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer.
Dan Stewart, Vice President for Human Resources, will tell us about Gold Eagle and how it grew, developed its well-known brands and became so employee-friendly. The company has flexible summer work hours, remote working arrangements and extensive wellness programs. Gold Eagle also has a regular company outing to celebrate its accomplishments.
AST’s President and CEO Pravin Kumar will join us along with Bernard Doyle, Sr. Practice Director, to tell us about AST and why its employees enjoy working there. AST has two events each year that bring together the employees and their spouses. AST has a four-day work week, which also contributes to the firm’s low turnover rate – about 3% a year.
