Will moved to Milton Keynes from London in 1978. He developed a passion for skateboarding as a result of an encounter with a group of skateboarders during a peace march at the Peace Pagoda. He shares how he was a part of the local punk rock scene and that it was highly unusual for punks to skateboard. He talks about how he found the built, retail and natural landscape of Milton Keynes the perfect place to skateboard.
This HLF-funded project celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of Milton Keynes. We interviewed more than 50 people who have made the town their home, who shared their memories, experiences, and hopes for the future. For more information about the project, visit mkpeoplesstories.co.uk
