Nesta is a global innovation foundation. But what does that mean? Watch this to find out more about what Nesta does and why, in 100 seconds.
The video contains footage of some of the innovators-for-good we are proud to have supported:
Oomph! An award-winning social enterprise (and Nesta investee) that helps the wellbeing of more than 530,000 older and vulnerable adults - through, for example, imaginative ‘chairobics’ exercise classes.
Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives - our £7 million Digital R&D Fund for the Arts supported the development of the Hidden Museum app. The app uses digital iBeacon technology to aid interaction with the Bristol museum displays and hidden treasures - making family visits more fun.
Coastal Parks and Garden Foundation, Bournemouth - our Rethinking Parks programme tested new approaches to raising income or reducing costs for public parks. Bournemouth Borough Council created an independent local parks charity to raise donations directly from the public - allowing park users to give to the green spaces they love, and funding improvements that might not otherwise occur.
CoderDojo Scotland - supported by our Digital Makers Fund, CoderDojo Scotland is part of a global network that provides free coding clubs for young people. The initiative, run by volunteers and mentors, is encouraging the next generation to become active creators, rather than passive consumers, of technology.
