When we heard CCA would be closing their doors this spring, we were both saddened and shocked. News of the closing was broadcasted by the LCMS Synod only once the decision was final.
The announcement also made us realize how little we knew in general about the school: Who attended here? What happened at CCA during the historic voter right’s movement of the 1960s? How did those at the school feel about the school closing? We decided to pay a visit to Selma ourselves to hear stories and ask questions.
What we found was both encouraging and disappointing, and we were left with more questions than answers.
