David Olney is our Kerouac...our Charles Bukowski. A modern day 'beat poet' with a flashlight on to social darkness. His lyrics can be cryptic, like all great poets, full of sublime meaning or leaving the listener meandering through a damp fog. Of course this takes on a whole new vibe when Dan Seymour is chugging the upright bass to accentuate the rhyme and reason. This music is brilliant on so many levels not the least of which is pure, naked honesty...Olney is an American treasure and the list of great artists who have taken to his prose reads like a "Who's Who"...'Big Top Tornado' is a fabulous piece of work.
