A talk by Dr. Karl Hagstrom Miller, University of Texas, about abortion in mainstream culture and music. He argues that those who want to talk about their experience with abortion have to reject the extremes of the political discourse, anti-abortion protesters, prochoice supporters, and often abortion providers. He offers examples of songs and music videos with fair use of music excerpts. The speech was originally given at the Abortion Care Network conference in 2009 and repeated for video in 2011. This presentation is intended to advance the knowledge and discussion of abortion as an issue and cultural experience.
