Making Time

‘Making Time’ follows the making of a single-shot espresso across multiple locations in Cardiff, South Wales. It is the story of a simple action and of many gestures that keep repeating. These gestures are both foreign and familiar, and so is the coffee itself, which today is used to create a private space in a wide range of public places across the globe. The video plays with the temporality of these gestures – which are both frenetic and intimate – following and manipulating their natural rhythm, until the first sip, when time relaxes, and we make time for something else.
