Armfield Research Flumes: Latest install in the £220 Million expansion of the FHNW University, Muttenz, Switzerland.
The FHNW is one of the leading Universities of Applied Sciences in Switzerland. The department Water Resources, Engineering and Management is mainly focused on hydrological analyses under changing climatological conditions and their hydraulic engineering effects.
From summer 2018 we have enhanced our services at our brand new laboratory at the new campus in Muttenz. These facilities include a state of the art tilting research flume from Armfield UK for a wide range of trials including sediment transportation, which was installed in April 2018. The flume is a 0.6 meter wide, 0.8 meter high with a 15 meter working length offering flow rates in excess of 180l/s.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Lebrenz, M.Sc. at FHNW stated that: "The system provides sophisticated controls over a wide variety of non-stationary boundary conditions, enabling modern research and investigations".
