Calligraphy on parchment placed on glass. Back-lighting allowing the camera to film from the viewpoint of the paper itself.
The concept being that the viewer can see pure brush strokes and the expressiveness of the Calligrapher.
A camera is used zoomed in to magnify the brush strokes and ink. A TV monitor was used as guide to the composition in camera and accurate framing.
The glass concept was in part inspired by the films of Jackson Pollock producing his action paintings on glass.
