On July 30, 2011 about 4:00 PM the wind suddenly went from 10 knots up to 40 knots in about 15 minutes. There were three sailboats anchored about 100' from shore. One of the self-furling jibs began to unravel causing much concern for the skipper of the boat and of the two boats anchored next to him. As the jib (and story) unfurled the skipper ran to the bow and cut the jib flopping jib sheets. A few minutes later he went up again and was able to douse the jib onto the deck. A nice piece of work.
