Finding and centring thermals are basic soaring skills that we build on every time we fly. This lecture delves into not only how to visualise and extract the most energy from a thermal, but also how to efficiently soar your glider on cross country tasks.
Craig Vinall has 14 years' gliding experience with the Waikerie Gliding Club. He has flown a 750km task in his Mosquito single-seater glider, which he sold 4 years ago and replaced with an ASG29, and has entered a number of competitions. Craig's understanding of soaring theory has come from personal experience and his own research.
