Life Itself: Community-Based Agriculture in Trinidad and Tobago

Haverford College

Filmed during the 2018 Economic Botany Field Study in Trinidad and Tobago, Life Itself highlights the community-based agriculture work of Green Market Santa Cruz and Brasso Seco Paria village (http://www.brassosecoparia.com/agrotourism). The film's director, Hayle Meyerhoff '20, was one of two students on the field study who created a short documentary film engaging with the thematics of the study tour as part of Visiting Assistant Professor Vicky Funari's class, "Advanced Media Production: The Documentary Body." The study tour was part of a course taught by Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies Jonathan Wilson, and focused on the intersection of botanical, social, and cultural history in Trinidad and Tobago. Green Market is one of the CPGC's newest partners and will be hosting two interns during the summer of 2018.
