Villa El Salvador is a small town in Peru. It borders the Pacific Ocean and yet so many do not have the luxury of running water. Several groups of women have created their own microcompanies, with all of the profits going towards providing a better life for their children. Each one puts aside her own individual needs for the good of others. The women create beautiful one of a kind arpilleras, which are colorful tapestries depicting the beauty in life. With each stitch, they are also bringing beauty and life to this town.Currently, it is their hope to raise the funds so that women are able to have mammograms and ultrasound testing done and that families can have access to running water.
