Short documentary about protecting wildlife in Southern Kenya. This film was first shown on the TV France 2 / ADN program and filmed with the assistance of African Latitude.
At African Latitude we believe strongly in the role of local communities assisting in the protection of wildlife. We encourage our guests to visit areas where part of their safari payment goes towards conservation projects involving these communities. Here in the Chyulu, the Maasai Preservation Trust under the supervision of Richard Bonham, helps the Mbirikani Group Ranch to protect their wildlife. They are using bloodhounds to hunt down poachers. This has become a great deterrent to poaching as the dogs are incredibly efficient trackers.
Watch these amazing dogs at work and visit the Maasai Preservation Trust site.
