"The Fourth of July" is a short film directed by Charles Griffin Gibson
"The Fourth of July" is my first foray into shooting and editing my own documentary projects. I went into it just thinking I would shoot my holiday weekend with my friends and girlfriend in the hopes that I would capture something. In the end, even if you think its a home movie or an autobiographical documentary, I feel this has some worth to it. I actively tried to focus on the bridge between adulthood and childhood, the pace of real life, and the way people use phrases and imagery to tell stories in order to accurately convey their subjective view of events. I don't know if any of those things come across to you here, but as I see it, this will, at the very least, be something nice for me to reflect on in years to come.
