Today Christine got off early from work and we got some lunch (yummy ol Fish and Chips) in sunny Pacifica. After Christine wanted to relive some childhood memories at the Pacifica Pier which was close by.
At the very end of the pier a manong asked if he could play mY ukulele and for a second i asked myself "do i want fisherman hands playing mY uke?" haha but then i thought to myself that hey who cares! So i handed him the uke and when he started to play it was like we were transported to a beautiful beach on a tropical island somewhere. Manong Roland played with such ease and skill.
I wanted to learn the way he played one song and asked if i could record him playing and he was more than glad to show me. Manong Roland encouraged me to just keep playing and jokingly said that i could be as good as he was. HAHA he then told Christine that she had a very handsome boyfriend and that i could be an actor in the Philippines! HAHAHAH typical uncle talk.
It was one of the moments in life that i was glad i talked and shared my love of the ukulele with someone. Thanks manong Roland for the music.
