Continuing with my research on the possibility of staging free will, I take my focus away from the source of my dancing to observe its complex nature in the moment that it happens.What if what really matters is not in the origin of things but more in their final function or impact?
This question led me through different territories, among them the House dance community, especially with regards to its practice of mixing and its relation to origin and originality.
BSTRD is a solo where I play with hybridization in an effort, perhaps a paradoxical one, to escape from any identification. How can one exist without belonging?
A vinyl turntable will be my only partner on stage, voice of my bastardised figure, at once multiple and unique, vague and precise, anonymous and nameable, common and solitary.
