Does it matter what shutter speed you use when shooting video with your DSLR? The pros seem to say so, but I just wanted to see for myself.
The footage I shot was filmed with my 7D and Carl Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 at 1/60s and 1/4000s.
To achieve the correct exposure I didn't want to change the aperture at all. Instead I used a slider/variable ND-filter to compensate the exposure through a filter instead of Aperture settings (maintaining shallow depth of field). So the only setting that changed in the test was the shutter speed.
