This was an entry into the Encounters 0117 Hour Film Challenge, which asked participants to create a short film in 117 Hours based on work displayed in the M-Shed museum. Created by our team, Menelek Waterton, Ben Barefoot and James Banks, this short film was inspired by a painting, 'Sold Down the River' by artist Tony Forbes. We decided to chart the history of the Bristol Black Community in a dance piece created by Ben Barefoot. The film was shot and edited by VS1's James Banks.
