Registration is now open for the Water Docs @ School Action Projects Informational Webinars, taking place August and September! >> http://bit.ly/WDATSCHOOL18
Over the last five years, Ecologos and our partners at Learning for a Sustainable Future have been training the next generation of water keepers for life through Water Docs @ School Action Projects! This popular program is designed around the Ontario Grade 8 curriculum, but teachers of combined Grade 7/8 classes find it works equally well for Grade 7's.
Water Docs @ School engages students in a learning process that includes research, community action, and filmmaking, delivering on Ministry of Education priorities, including:
- expectations in the grade eight Science and Technology, Language, Mathematics, Arts, Health and Physical Education, and Geography curricula
- information and communication technologies to support learning
- experiential learning (including, but not limited to, pathways to non-traditional occupations and vocations)
- inquiry-focused and play-based teaching and learning
The program grows each year, consistently garnering excited reactions from teachers and students alike (how can you lose with that kind of success?!) and we're looking forward to another 7 months of learning by doing.
