As Dr. Don G. Pickney continues exploring the greatness of God as He manifests Himself as Jehovah Tsaba (the Lord of hosts), He takes us into portions of Isaiah 60 & 61. He captures the essence of Chapter 61:6-8 noting that the body of Christ are the only Earth-occupants named "the priests of the Lord... called the ministers of our God." God's plan for Israel allowed for priests and Levites (ministers of the sanctuary), but not the nation of Israel.
He takes us to 1 Peter 2:5-10 where scripture declares us to be those that Isaiah is prophesying of:
1 Peter 2:5-10 KJV "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (6) Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."
