THE HOPE EQUATION
(See Romans 4:18-21)
Four Things Hope Does That Nothing Else Can Do
Hope LIBERATES. Hope releases you from your past.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
Hope Killer #1: Not knowing your IDENTITY in Christ.
Hope MOTIVATES. Hope causes you to bounce back.
And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Romans 5:5 (TPT)
Hope Killer #2: Discouragement.
“You don’t drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.” – Edwin Louis Cole
Hope INITIATES. Hope sets you free to dream.
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)
Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together. – Vincent van Gogh
Hope Killer #3: Discouragement is a contagious disease. You can catch it from discouraging people.
Hope ACTIVATES. Hope is the fuel that unleashes action.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Hope Killer #4: Negative attitude.
