Single channel installation with 3 suspended screens and white wall.
Cinematographer Judd Overton won Gold Award at ACS 2012 for Experimental Cinematography for this film.
The performer inhabits 4 architectural forms - the door, the chair, the bed and the stair, in a reverie of place and form. Projected onto transparent screens this work disrupts and distorts the picture plane surface, creating multiple layers of movement. A meditation on space, rhythm and form.
The Door, the Chair, the Bed and the Stair was commissioned by SEAM: Spatial Phrases, an international symposium of Architecture/Dance/Film in Sydney 2009.
