Seven Monks set out to walk from Blue Cliff Monastery along the Appalachian Trail from upper New York state to Washington, DC.
It's called the Mobile Monastery project. Their journey traversed New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and the District of Columbia. They held retreats on Sundays in each town they stopped in, along the way. Hundreds joined them when the brothers arrived in Washington at the Lincoln Memorial and then walked altogether through the Viet Nam War memorial, finishing with a community meditation in Constitution Garden. The brothers share their insights on how meditation and practice has changed their lives.
