This year Stadtlichter presents itself for the first time as a two-day festival in the BLO-Ateliers in Berlin Lichtenberg. The focus of attention is on this particular district in Berlin as well as its seven twin cities: Mubukwana/Maputo (Mozambique), Białołęka/Warsaw (Poland), Kaliningrad (Russia), Hajnówka (Poland), Jurbarkas (Lithuania), Hoan Kiem/Hanoi (Vietnam) and Vienna-Margareten (Austria).
Spanning two days – 30.06. & 01.07.2018 – our festival screen six film programmes in varying artistic formats. Whether motion picture, documentary, short or cartoon movie, the important aspect is the reference to the respective partner region or emphasis on a particular cultural theme. For our young guests we can present a short movie programme especially for kids (1st of July). You can expect local and international film-makers for Q&A’s as well as joint artist talks.
Beside films the Stadtlichter Festival presents an exhibition with street photography from Hanoi, Maputo, Kaliningrad, Warsaw and Berlin-Lichtenberg. Furthermore we have a reading with the lithuanian author Ilia Kitup and a concert with the band SHIRLEY & DON.
