How do clients convert STEM insights into actions?
Evidence from the STEM database shows that sales representatives who say that they have received a clear Action Plan briefing following a STEM project have almost twice the chance of success. However, almost half of sales representatives say that they have not received a clear Action Plan briefing. What do successful clients do differently, and how do they successfully convert STEM insights into clearly defined actions?
Client ownership and accountability of the highly implementable insights and recommendations provided by STEM is critical. At the first meeting, clients identify the key stakeholders who will drive the implementation of the action plan within their organisation. Failure to identify ownership at this stage can be detrimental and lead to poor outcomes.
After STEM has presented the final results, the baton is handed back to the client to run action planning workshops to ‘deep dive’ into the results and create a simple implementable set of actions.
Planning templates are provided by STEM to support this process - allowing next steps to be prioritised, responsibilities assigned, key milestones generated and timelines agreed.
Client actions will be a mix of strengths to build from and opportunities to improve. Prioritising and monitoring these actions between STEM waves is extremely important to ensure success. Engaging the wider organisation to promote adoption of the actions is also vital. The STEM project team will meet with you regularly, at no additional cost, to support you as you monitor progress.
A good bespoke Action Plan can yield timely results.
