If you could write a postcard to your future self, what would you write?
This is the question asked of thousands of high school students as they reflect on their experiences at the end of every module of an inspiring leadership program called the High Resolves Initiative.
Today’s young people live in a global society that faces unprecedented challenges and difficulties. They can be overwhelmed and often report a feeling of helplessness as they learn about their world. How can our schools recognise this need more directly? Is there a systematic and progressive way to build the leadership and citizenship skills of this generation of young people to create a better future for us all?
This is a short version of a film that follows the journey of a group of Australian high school students as they examine their role as global citizens and develop their skills as leaders for the 21st century.
The High Resolves Initiative is a not-for-profit, non-religious educational program that seeks to motivate high school students to view themselves as purposeful global citizens and to acquire the skills they will need to lead their communities, and the world, to a brighter future.
The program is delivered through a creative mix of interactive simulations, role-playing exercises and small group discussions to help them to emerge as leaders working to improve their schools and to serve society.
