FCA have recently gained planning permission on an in situ concrete home for a private client in Thames Ditton, Surrey. Replacing a run down home, the proposal is entered through a extruded central section creating a dramatic entrance sequence to the home.
To the rear of the proposal two wings extend into the back garden framing a central swimming pool. Each wing contains a gym and a kitchen respectively; key requirements to the client's brief. Exposed concrete is used on the heavy facades; a finish that honestly reflects the dramatic structural spans above. Large elements of glazing create an outdoor/indoor environment. The architecture, planning and material articulation all, in combination, create a distinct, client specific lifestyle.
