株式会社二トムズは、クリエイティブユニット SPREAD と共に「HARU stuck-on design;」によるサイトスペシフィックなインスタレーションを行いました。「HARU stuck-on design;」は「色を貼る」という発想で生まれた、貼ってはがせる空間装飾テープです。このインスタレーションは、30年間閉ざされていたミラノ中央駅の高架下を舞台に、色の作品・色の言葉・光・音で演出し、5万人の来場者を記録しました。
空虚な場所に深紅の絨毯を敷くと、その空間は一瞬にして絢爛で神聖な空気に包まれるように、色は空間を彩りながら、人の心理にも影響を及ぼしていくもの。インスピレーションの元となったのは、最古のアートとも呼べる洞窟壁画。暗闇のなかで光を照らすと浮かび上がってくる壁画の鮮やかな色は、これを描いた人々がそれぞれの思いを留め、喜びを見出していたとともに、今でも見るものに感動を与えます。色という人類の偉大なる発明は、時代や文化を超え、私たちと密接な関わりを持ち、さまざまな感性を作り出してきました。暗闇のなかで光が照らす会場の中で、ゲーテやゴッホ、ゴーリキー、ムナーリ、千利休など、さまざま分野で活躍した偉人たちによる色にまつわる言葉と共に、HARU stuck-on design;を用いたインスタレーションが浮かび上がりました。世代や国を超えて、ご来場いただいた多くの方の喜びに満ちた表情と行動は、色が人に与える喜びの力を証明出来たように思えます。
色を貼ることで、空間が変わり、広がり、そしてもっと自由になる。『色を貼る』という新しい文化の創造をこれからも世界に発信していきたいと考えています。
