Rampue’s first release through Audiolith’s sister label Cobretti Records was called "elektronische Tanzmusik" (electronic dance music) and that is exactly what Rampue likes and produces. As far as he’s concerned the music can stomp and groan as much as it wants as long as the melody does not fall under the table at the same time.
Rampue has become tightly connected to Audiolith and as well as producing numerous remixes for label mates Frittenbude, Bratze and Supershirt he has also produced hits for and with Ira Atari, Plemo and Egotronic. Rampue also works with artists who are not with Audiolith and takes on anything that sounds good and damages genre boundaries without batting an eyelid. People like Louie Austen, An Horse, Karpatenhund and Fukkk Offfare grateful of his magic handiwork.
But where has this old man gathered this know-how and unscruplousness from?
Born in the concrete desert of Karl-Marx-Stadt he learnt from an early age to just bite through everything and for that he needed a mouth full ofsaw teeth. At the age of 13 he had already begun to produce his first beats. Influenced by the the whole area of tension between techno and electro he has since then distilled the best music from a whole generation of pop from ELO to Kraftwerk and warmed the stone dry beats with hot sounds from the future. As a DJ he uses his know-how to soften wonderful synth-melodies and thumping grooves and can even make the hardest sounds soft. From minimum to maximum, from techno to trance and to Proghouse and back. Everything that Rampue takes in his hand is danceable, whether he has produced, remixed or released it.
