My Learner ID
Assessment For Learning – Developing Learners for Life
Teaching learners to teach themselves and supporting children to be learners for life is a key goal for education in a world with rapid technological advancements and lack of clarity on required future skillsets. Dr. Suzanne Parkinson, Developmental & Educational Psychologist and author of 'My Learner Identity', has developed a new a programme that enables me, the student get to know and understand myself as a learner and more importantly enables the teacher to get to know and understand how I learn. ‘My Learner ID’ offers a balanced perspective on how we understand learners. It offers insight into learners beyond standard scores. The programme nurtures what really matters: learner voice, learner responsibility and learner independence. ‘My Learner ID’ is innovative, timely and practical and embeds assessment for learning in daily classroom practice.
This introductory video gives a brief overview of ‘My Learner ID’. The programme is currently available for children aged 9-13 years, third to sixth class or P5-P7/P8.
