This is documentation of an hour long performance in the Spring Hill Reservoirs during Brisbane Open House 2017. Caitlin Franzmann, Dale Gorfinkel and Ross Manning were commissioned by Brisbane City Council and Brisbane Open House to create an audio-visual installation. 'the way through all things' incorporated projections, light installations and kinetic instruments responding to the architecture and history of the submerged reservoirs. During the final hour of the exhibition, friends - Rohan Bridge, Timothy Green, Henry Mills, Lalita Sherwell, Adam Sussman, Amanda Terry & Emma Wilson - joined the trio for an improvised performance within the installation. Visitors were invited to move freely through the space and stay as long or as little as they desired. After an hour and 300 or so visitors, the performance went from chaos and confusion to a dark calmness - always remaining in motion.
