In this two week workshop, 2nd-year bachelor students from the Aarhus School of Architecture designed and built a geodesic gridshell from ash wood. The shell relies on parametric scripting (Grasshopper for Rhino) and CNC digital fabrication technology to precisely define the pieces and joints that compose the structure. The final gridshell spans 6 meters, with 4 wood layers each with a thickness of 7mm.
