Stanley Dearman was born and raised in Lauderdale County then moved to Meridian when he was three. After graduation from school and community college, Dearman joined the navy and upon his return to Mississippi attended the University of Mississippi. When Dearman finished college and returned to Meridian to begin working at the Neshoba Democrat, he discovered that the newspaper was looking to be sold. Dearman purchased the newspaper and speaks briefly on working on the civil rights murders story. 06/19/04.
