Excerpts from the installation "Madre de Dios", which premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, MA. The installation consists of several large-scale light boxes which gradually illuminate long exposure photographs from the Peruvian Amazon. During the photographic exposures, ambient sound was simultaneously recorded at the same locations. As each light box gradually illuminates for the duration of its exposure, the sound from that image is amplified throughout the installation space as well.
